The Magic Forest sparkled in the dawn light. Giant multi-coloured mushrooms glowed luminous amongst the trees under the first rays of the sun. A herd of deer ventured into a clearing, their dewy brown eyes alert for any movement. Other than the hopping of nibbling rabbits and rustling of the chirping birds the morning was still.

The deer blinked their long eyelashes as the grass blades rustled. The new fawns paused, but calmed when they saw their mothers were unafraid. A light poured forth stronger than the morning over the undergrowth, over the moss and over the fallen logs. Glitter, followed by a tinkling laugh. They watched, wide eyed, as more than a dozen tiny beautiful maidens skipped from a hole in the earth holding hands and smiling, their feet bare and their wings iridescent as dragonflies. Such a sweet sight and beautiful faces the fawns had never seen.

The fairies danced in circles as their skirts of pink, blue or green swished around their dainty legs. Just as the fawns lost themselves to the vision before them and hoped to watch them forever, a large ugly troll crashed through the bushes. “You better have my money bitches,” he snarled.

“We gave you all the money we made!” said a fairy.

“You’re ‘oldin back I know you are,” replied the troll.

“We only wanted to get off the berry juice.”

“There ain’t no getting off the berry juice for you, now gimme my money.”

“Yeah, yeah, whatever, we wouldn’t want you to run out of Deadly Nightshade would we?” she replied as she reached into her sparkling knapsack.

“Less o’ that lip, slag,” said the troll, and the fairy silently handed over a roll of notes. The others followed suit, cooing over him as he led them away to the magic tree to get pepped up on red berries.
